Pen Turning Date Night

Had such a good time teaching 4 couples the basics of turning slimline pens.  The evening started off with box lunches from Preston Catering (next door in the Woodcraft center on the corner of Bethel and Kenny).  I demoed the process as everyone finished dinner.      Then, the first person started their turning their pen then would help instruct/lead their partner in turning there’s.  One couple even swapped parts one of their wood blanks so they would each have two different pieces of wood that mirrored the other and turned each pen together: so adorable.

My favorite part of teaching pen Turning is watching students go from a point of “mine may not end up being as nice” to “OMG, this is AWESOME!” in a matter of 20 minutes as the couple nurtures each other through the process.

This may be something I offer at least quarterly or bi-monthly so, check the schedule link above for more info on how to sign up.   Hope to see you in class.
